Natural grass in the Las Vegas valley requires consistent irrigation nearly year-round to stay green, which adds up in both water cost and usage, a real consideration in a desert water system. Artificial turf eliminates ongoing irrigation for that area entirely.

Cheaply installed turf with standard infill can get uncomfortably hot underfoot in direct summer sun. This is a legitimate downside of low-quality installations, but it's addressed with heat-resistant infill options and thoughtful placement, such as shaded areas or partial-shade zones near structures or trees, rather than avoided by skipping turf altogether.

Natural grass needs mowing, edging, fertilizing, and pest management, all of which add up over a season. Turf needs occasional rinsing and infill maintenance, but no mowing or fertilizing, and unlike grass, it doesn't go dormant or brown out in extreme heat or during watering restrictions.
